Great advice for problems that most of us suffer from. I never could fit my pitch into an elevator pitch.
Also, being segmented by the listener is inevitable.
Choosing a good opener should be done meticulously but also as mentioned, we should keep the same enthusiasm in every pitch and not be bored of repeating our mission.
I find that continually varying slightly the angle I come at my pitch helps me see my idea in a new light and sometimes it becomes the “defacto” way I talk about things. I’ve recently started calling PW a project attempting to create a Superbloom.
Totally agree! By pitching to people in different scenarios, I didn’t follow the script and discovered different value propositions in my startup. It makes you rethink the idea from a new perspective.
